Most students apply as an 8th grader for the experience and the ability to have that 8th grade meeting with an admissions counselor if they did not get in as an 8th grader.

If I applied as an 8th grader and was not accepted, how can I attend the meeting with the admissions counselor?

You would receive an email from admissions after the application process concluded

Is there a difference between the applications for 8th and 9th grade?

If a student gets admitted during 8th grade, will they wait for a year and start at 10th grae?

No they are the same.

My SAT testing is planned in march, Can I still apply?

No students will skip the 9th grade if admitted as an 8th grader. Students do not have the ability to self-defer a year.

If SAT score will not be considered, do we still need to take it?

To ensure our equity standards continue to be met in the application process, due to testing center locations and seating limitations, we will be NOT be considering SAT scores during the selection process. IMSA has always used a holistic approach when reviewing applicants, and test scores were only one of a multitude of factors when selecting the incoming sophomore class. During this year’s admission process, we will continue to focus on grades, teacher evaluations, student activities and interests, and essays when considering applicants.However the SAT will still be required to attend IMSA to ensure the admission requirements are met. In order to enroll at IMSA, scores will have to be submitted prior to starting at IMSA. Applicants are not required to include scores in their application, but there is still a space to include scores and the process for submitting scores will continue to be the same as in previous years. As in previous years, we will also accept a student’s SAT Super Score.

What if I only have a school email? Could I use my parent's email?

You can use whatever email you have access too and will check frequently since that's how we will be reaching out about missing items or application updates.

I have tried to sign up for an account on imsa.force.com I have an error that keeps repeating "Your request cannot be processed at this time."

it says that i submitted my application even thought i didnt and didnt complete it.

On the application for the teacher evaluation it says that we can have teachers from last year evaluate for us. So is this possible cause some teachers don’t know us well cause of the online meetings so can a past teacher do a evaluation for me?

Your counselor will upload the grades to as part of the counselor form. They should have records form the last 2.5 years

Unfortunately we are not conducting 8th grade interviews anymore. We are only able to do those over the summer.

There is no set number of activities we're looking for.

You do not need to submit PSAT scores with your application. We don't consider those for admission.
